What we have been up to

For those of you who are wondering, who is this person . . .trekking through the mountains, doing things outside! Well, all I have to say is when in Rome . . .This country has quite a bit to do outside, so if we want to really experience the country, outside I go! This weekend, we went up to the mountains, again. This time, we found a mountain that was high enough up that it was actually cool. Pretty exciting, huh? It got as low as 60 degrees but mostly hovered around 70 degrees, which is fantastic seeing as, these days, the city is usually about 95 degrees. (But it is a tolerable 95 since, as they say, it is a dry heat.) The scenery was absolutely beautiful, and we think we found a good spot to go camping. And seeing as the temperature is quite nice up there, we may actually get around to camping one of these days. Yes . . .me . . . camping! And just in case you have forgotten what we look like, I have added a picture of us in the mountains. You can't really tell how beautiful it is, but I promise. It was nice. Yesterday, we went out for a boat ride to see the dolphins. It was a friend of mine's daughter's birthday, and this was her birthday present. I expected that we would see a couple of dolphins in the distance, but after going out into the ocean for about 15 minutes, right in front of us was a group of about 20 of them, swimming right for us. For the next hour or so, we saw them all over, chasing the boat, flipping in the air. It was amazing! For those of you looking at this picture below saying to yourself "That doesn't look like a lot of dolphins!" . . .Let me just tell you how hard it is to take a picture of dolphins who are jumping in and out of the water while you are in a moving boat. It's not easy. We have about 20 pictures of the ocean, where a dolphin used to be just seconds before, and about 10 pictures of the sky, taken when the boat must have hit a swell. Therefore, this is as good of a picture as you are going to get, so take my word for it. It was impressive. Then, in addition to the dolphins, we saw a bunch of yellow fin tuna fighting with the seagulls. And just in case you were curious, the tuna won . . .up until the fisherman came along and ripped them out of the water. One point for the tuna, zero points for the seagulls, and the winning point goes to the fisherman who bashed its head in. (not a pretty sight.) Posted by Picasa

Well, needless to say, I don't have as much free time as Pam. Someone has to go to work to pay for Pam's tennis lessons....
