Well, you can't live in Australia without spending some time on the water, so we rented a boat for a week and went a-sailing. We went up to the Whitsundays, which is a set of islands about an hour and a half plane flight north of Brisbane. And it turned out this scenario was all it took to finally get our "shrimp on the barbie" picture! (You knew it was only a matter of time before we used that one!) In any event, we stayed on this cat that had 2 bunks with 2 bathrooms, a living area/kitchen, and then, a second story that had some seats and

the captain's chair. (Yes, Jason was the captain. :) ) It wasn't the lap of luxury, but it suited us just fine. And the good news is that after 4 of us being in such close quarters, we are still on speaking terms, so it must have been a good trip! I must admit that we didn't do much other than pick a new place to anchor every once in a while, but when you have scenery like that, that's about all you need to do. We saw tons of wildlife, mostly turtles, and we did manage to see dolphins and whales, too! I mean how often do you see a whale about a 100 meters from the boat you are personally driving. In the end, it was just an opportunity to sit and relax and enjoy looking at the sea. With that said, we did end up with some lessons learned, but we don't really need to go into those, do we? I mean anyone could look at the wrong fuel gauge and accidentally cut the fuel line to the engines . . .
