Wine Tasting - You can't do that in Oman!!

So what does he do when we go for a nice weekend away to taste mediocre Australian wines?? Yes, that's right . . . Take a conference call! Ok, he wasn't on for that long, and it could be worse . . . He could be taking a conference call sitting at home, instead of in a beautiful setting with wine to be sampled just steps away, right? :) In any event, we went to the Hunter Valley a couple weekends ago to do something we haven't been able to do in a while . . . wine tasting! Hunter Valley isn't the best of the wine regions in Australia, but it is the one that is only an hour away by plane, which makes for an easy weekend getaway. And yes, calling the wines mediocre is probably a bit harsh and uncalled for, but they didn't really come close to our experiences back in Napa Valley. (yes, we are wine snobs, if you didn't know that already.) With that said, it was a thoroughly enjoyable weekend. I mean . . . how could it be bad . . . quaint bed and breakfast, good food, wine . . . enough said.
